Should insults be used to correct people

Should insults be used to correct people?   
       
                 Well from what I know, Ghanaians have used insults thinking is the only way of correcting people. When someone says something rudely,or behaves rudely or badly,there are so Many ways to talk the person out of it but my friend Hakeem Bin Ameen a journalist  based in kumasi, Ghana thinks insults is the right way to talk people out of a bad act. Hakeem bin Ameen from the start criticised  the late hit maker "Ebony reigns ". 

                    Ebony is(was a talented singer who chose to sell her brand in her own style. Known for the hit songs, (sponsor, maame hue, etc) she passed away on the 8th of February, 2018 just some few days to her birthday  in a fatal accident. 
Even with her death, people still criticise her for her lifestyle and as you know some would love her more.
                Though people have bad attitude or behaviors and they should be corrected .My question is: Should someone be insulted to be corrected?
